Dakotaland Federal Credit Union recently honored 10 area students with $10,000 in College Scholarships for the 2020-21 school year. Each recipient submitted an application and an essay highlighting their thoughts on their ‘financial future’.

Submissions were judged by a scholarship committee made up of 12 individuals. "I was impressed with our scholarship applicants this year, as many went above and beyond the requirements. This special group of people have positively impacted their communities already in many ways and I have no doubt they will continue to do so in the future. As a former recipient of a credit union scholarship myself, I have been fortunate to see first hand how these scholarships alleviate the financial burden of a higher education. Playing a role in an organization that helps its members achieve their goals is truly rewarding, and I must say, providing these individuals with scholarships is one of my favorite things we do as a credit union”, stated Colin Claeys, Scholarship Committee Member and Member Services Representative of the Brookings Branch Office.

The following winners were each awarded $1000 to use toward their continued education.
