Announcing $15,000 in Funding to Homeowners
Thursday, May 30, 2013
A grant totaling $15,000 was recently awarded to Dakotaland Federal Credit Union by Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. The grant is part of FHLB Des Moines Rural Homeownership Fund (RHF) supporting homeownership opportunities for families and individuals in rural communities.
Many hardworking home buyers who can make a house payment still find themselves unable to purchase a home because they do not have the funds required for upfront costs. Through the RHF program, these qualified individuals and families receive funds to assist with the down payment, closing cost, counseling or rehabilitation of the property.
By participating in RHF, Dakotaland Federal Credit Union will be able to distribute awards of up to $2500 to each eligible homebuyer. Income guidelines do apply and applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
"Through these grants monies, we are pleased to offer assistance to help homeownership become a reality for our credit union members that otherwise might not be able to purchase a home." stated Dakotaland Real Estate Manager, Sarah Senska.
