Dakotaland Federal Credit Union hosted their Annual Memberfest at the main branch in Huron on Tuesday, June 9th and while over six hundred credit union members enjoyed a fabulous pork loin BBQ, a collection of $1200 in cash donations was raised for the local United Way.
According to the Director of the United Way of Huron, Rhonda Kludt, Dakotaland is what they call a pace-setter business. “They host an event prior to the start of our campaign that gets things rolling”, says Kludt. For years, the Credit Union has piloted the commencement of the new United Way Campaign in an effort to launch fundraising efforts.
Credit Union President, Dan Cumbee was pleased to present the donation to the United Way of Huron on behalf of Dakotaland’s Membership. “We are proud to say our credit union members are the best and their generous donations to this community focused agency is a reflection of their benevolence and willingness to support a good cause”, stated Cumbee.
Dakotaland has locations in Huron, Volga, Brookings, Madison, Redfield, DeSmet, Mitchell and Woonsocket. With 28,000 members and $270 million in assets, Dakotaland continues to be locally owned and operated offering a full-line of financial services to its membership since 1935.
