Justin Olson Joins Accounting Department At Dakotaland Federal Credit Union

Huron, SD - July 19, 2017 Chief Financial Officer at Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, Ryan Goehner, recently expanded operations in the Accounting Department at the main office in Huron. The Senior Accountant position was filled by local candidate, Justin Olson. “With 10 years of combined banking, tax, and accounting experience, Justin was the right fit for Dakotaland. His experience coming from the public sector is valued and we are glad to have him on the team,” commented Goehner.

Mr. Olson grew up near Fairmont, Minnesota and attended Martin Luther High School in Northrop. He then obtained a BA Degree in Business Economics from South Dakota State University in Brookings. The new Senior Accountant at Dakotaland has furthered his accounting education through SDSU and also at the University of Alaska Southeast while his wife, Andrea, was fulfilling a teaching contract. Upon returning to South Dakota, Olson spent the next 7 years with a local accounting firm. When asked about his new position with Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, Justin replied, “I eagerly anticipate applying my past experience and knowledge in accounting to Dakotaland’s future success. Everyone has been great here. It’s easy to see how employees care about each other and the members.”

The Olsons reside in Huron where they stay busy with their 4 beautiful children and their many activities in the community. Outside of work and family, Justin is a strong advocate for his church and enjoys not only playing soccer, but also taking road trips to watch the US National Soccer Team. Justin also loves the outdoors and it’s various activities, especially hunting in the fall.
