Job Summary:
A Junior Business Loan Officer is responsible for building working relationships with current and potential member business owners to meet their current and future financial needs. This position will be actively involved in our communities to build and support relationships with the businesses and community members we serve. Junior Business Loan Officers are responsible for processing applications, preparing documentation, and following through with servicing of business loans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Interview current and prospective members, gather background information and necessary financial information.
• Assist with the loan application process in person, on the phone, or electronically to ensure completeness of information.
• Evaluate provided financials for accuracy and completion.
• Submits loan package to credit analyst and loan committee, when required.
• Approve or deny loan applications based on credit review.
• Explain reasons for denial and explore options for members when business loans are denied.
• Monitors approved loan applications through to closing to ensure correct information is gathered and all requirements of Business Lending Policy and Procedures are met.
• Coordinates loan closings with business loan processors including the preparing of relevant documents, funding loans, and following through with documentation of lien instruments.
• Assists members with day-to-day questions regarding their business accounts and helping resolve any problems that may arise.
• Build relationships with existing members by sharing other lending opportunities and other credit union products as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills:
Prior experience in banking is preferred. Applicant must be able to perform the duties of his/her job in a timely and professional manner. Applicant must have good listening and communication skills and represent the credit union in various ways in a professional manner. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license in the event that their services are needed at another branch location. Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to occasionally lift/transport up to 10 pounds at a time. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Environment is primarily indoor.
