General Position Summary:
Provide a welcoming environment for members coming into the office. Take phone calls and assist members with excellent service by answering questions or by directing calls to the appropriate department. Support lending staff in a variety of ways as needed. Applicant must possess good judgment and have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Answer and direct phone calls in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answer member questions or direct members to the appropriate staff.
• Mail out notices for various departments in the Credit Union.
• Check lending voicemails and respond to or redirect messages appropriately.
• Scan documents for the Lending Departments.
• Secure the file room.
• Maintain the Loan Department reception area by keeping adequate supplies for copier and related equipment readily available.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
Applicant must possess good judgment and have excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively. Computer and phone skills are required for the position. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license in the event that their services are needed at another branch location. Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Applicant must be bondable and pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to occasionally lift/transport up to 10 pounds at a time. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Environment is primarily indoor.

Brookings Branch
Schedule (40 hours per week):

Job Description:
Join our teller team and our service-oriented organization to offer our members exceptional financial experiences. Be responsible for assisting members with their financial needs in a professional and confidential manner. Duties include but are not limited to, balancing and maintaining cash drawer, making daily deposits/withdrawals, cashing checks, answering phone calls, processing account transfers and loan payments and various duties as assigned. Position also requires servicing ATMs when necessary.
Expectations:
• Must possess good judgment and be able to make independent decisions.
• Maintain member and credit union confidentiality.
• Must have good listening and communication skills.
• Must be able to reliably commute to branch location and report on time for scheduled shifts.
• Expected to stay up to date on all credit union services and explain those to members on a general basis.

Position Summary:
Join a terrific team and our seasoned Consumer Loan Officer at the Mitchell Branch. Develop a positive rapport with all members to assist with their financial lending needs for auto loans, recreational vehicle loans, personal loans and credit cards. Create an awareness of all products and services available to the members, so they may make an informed decision as to what is best for their financial situation.
Skills/Expectations:
• Must have exceptional communication skills and a desire to interact with the public.
• Strong analytical skills to assess the needs of members’ finances.
• Must be a highly productive person with ability to manage multiple duties concurrently.
• Understand and comply with all federal, state, local, and Credit Union policies and regulations that affect your area of expertise.
• Expected to perform other duties as requested by management when necessary.
• Ability to exhibit confidentiality, patience, courtesy and tact when providing assistance or service to members and working with coworkers.
• Ability to explain fully to the member every detail on the credit application and all loan documents.
• Be involved with members when they are considering a purchase and stay involved to maintain their loyalty to Dakotaland Federal Credit Union.
• Maintain loan files according to the established processes.
• Participate in all training offered at the Credit Union. Including, but not limited to in-house training, webinars, lender development trainings, Credit Union Financial Counselor certification, Chapter and/or League meetings.
• Research and be aware of who competitors are and the products and specials offered in the industry.
• Work with other loan offers on approving or declining credit but be pragmatic in developing ability to make independent loan decisions.
• Maintain credit union and member confidentiality in all situations.
• Experience in lending is preferred but not required.
